Organise the essentials
Bring together member and unit records, bank details, current vendor contracts, recent notices and outstanding issues. Use a consistent folder structure so records remain easy to find.
Separate records from access
Maintain an inventory of the systems the society uses. Update the authorised people when the committee changes, and avoid sharing personal account passwords as part of a handover.
Leave context, not just files
Add a brief note about work in progress, decisions awaiting follow-up and recurring tasks. This helps a new committee continue the work with fewer gaps.
